This study will first focus on four social factors from the Acculturation Model that emerged as common themes during the interviews with the informants: 1 ) social dominance patterns, 2) integration strategies, 3) enclosure, and 4) attitudes while several other variables form part of the Acculturation Model, these variables -most of which are affective- were not discernable in an interview format and are thus not included in the present analysis. Using Norton's concept of investment, the analysis will then focus on how these factors are informed by gendered and religious identity, and how they impact the acculturation experience for informants; specifically, their investment in Spanish and Catalan. Finally, the discussion section will highlight some of the generational differences and/or similarities observed in informants' self-reports that
